The Universidad de la Comunicación, founded on December 13, 1976, occupies this unique space. Its history goes far beyond its founding date. The building itself dates back to the 1920s. It was designed by architect E. Prunes, who drew inspiration from the Palace of Azahara. Look closely and you’ll see Islamic influences in the windows and balconies. The building showcases an eclectic blend of architectural styles, including Art Nouveau and Renaissance elements. Before becoming the Universidad de la Comunicación, this building served various purposes. It began as a grand residence, possibly belonging to the wealthy Peralta family. Later, it transformed into an educational institution, housing the Hebrew College Mount Sinai, the Mexican Liceum, and the College Walden Dos. The Universidad de la Comunicación offers undergraduate courses focused on communication and culture. These programs include Publicity, Social Communication, Visual Communication, Film, and more. The university is recognized by the Mexican Secretariat of Public Education and the International Advertising Association. The Universidad de la Comunicación is more than just a university.
