“What began as five or six families coming together” That’s how the story of Dallas Chinese Fellowship Church began. More than twenty years ago this fellowship started. These families wanted to study the Bible and pray together.
Quickly, the small group grew into a larger community. They regularly gathered at nearby churches. They held Masses and meetings. As the numbers increased, they sought help from the Diocese of Dallas. In 1990, they requested the establishment of a permanent Chinese Catholic community.
Two years later in 1992, they pooled their resources. They purchased a small office building in Richardson, Texas. By the end of 1993, the building had been renovated. It became their sanctuary and activity hall. Priests from Taiwan offered guidance. The Holy Spirit enlightened them. The small community grew stronger. It grew in numbers and faith. For thirteen years, the Dallas Chinese Fellowship Church congregation worshiped here. They received God’s grace.
By 2000, the little church was too small. It could not sustain the growing number of parishioners. After five years of planning, they started fundraising. Parishioners and generous benefactors from around the world helped. A new multi-purpose building was constructed. It was Phase I of their new church. Finally, on January 15, 2006, the building was blessed and opened. Six months later, the church was elevated. It went from a Mission to a canonically erected Parish. This was a proud moment for all community members.
Today, the Dallas Chinese Fellowship Church stands as a testament to faith. It shows the dedication of its community. It serves as a spiritual home for many Chinese families in the Dallas area. It began with a small group of families. Now, it is a thriving center of faith and community. The church offers a source of spiritual nourishment. It enriches the lives of its members. Through faith, they find hope. They gain a deeper understanding of both heaven and humanity.
The Dallas Chinese Fellowship Church continues to welcome all. It provides a place for worship, fellowship, and spiritual growth. It is a beacon of faith. It reflects the enduring strength of a community united in Christ. It stands as a testament to the power of shared faith and collective effort.
