Welcome to Albino Akvaryum in Istanbul a place where underwater dreams come to life. Since opening its doors in April 2011 Albino Akvaryum has become a leading destination for tourists. It is home to 17000 sea creatures.

Albino Akvaryum isn’t just any aquarium it’s Turkey’s national aquarium. This means it holds a special place in the hearts of locals and visitors alike. It showcases sea life with cutting-edge technology across 18 themed areas. These themes help raise awareness about marine life. They teach us the importance of keeping our seas clean.

Imagine walking through 16 themed zones plus an Amazon rainforest all in one place. Albino Akvaryum offers a geographical tour. This route starts at the Black Sea and ends in the vast Pacific Ocean. Rare species await you at every turn.

Keep an eye out for the poisonous stone fish. Look closely for the lemon sharks. Do not miss the graceful stingrays. Albino Akvaryum is also home to the first and only gentoo penguins in Turkey.

But Albino Akvaryum is more than just a visual feast. It plays a crucial role in protecting endangered species. Sharks and gentoo penguins benefit from the aquarium’s scientific studies. These studies ensure the continuation of these species. In fact a penguin was born here for the first time in Turkey. This event marks a national success. It resulted from the dedicated work of aquaculture engineers.

Albino Akvaryum also operates as a sea turtle treatment center. Injured turtles receive care and rehabilitation here. Once healed they are released back into their natural habitats.

Albino Akvaryum spans over 22000 square meters. It contains 66 tanks holding 7000 cubic meters of water. The 1.2 km long travel route ensures you will discover approximately 1500 species.

Before you leave make sure to catch a film in the 5D movie houses. These houses offer seven different films and live effects such as wind fog and water.
