Nestled in the heart of Buenos Aires, the Embassy of Serbia stands as a symbol of enduring diplomacy. The Embassy of Serbia, located on Montevideo 696, isn’t just a building. It’s a living testament to the relationship between Serbia and Argentina. It’s a place where cultures intertwine and stories unfold. The current ambassador, Veljko Lazić, has been actively engaged in strengthening these ties. In 2025, he met with Argentina’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Eduardo Bustamante, to discuss various aspects of bilateral cooperation. Ambassador Lazić expressed Serbia’s commitment to enhancing the relationship, particularly through increased political dialogue and broader cooperation across different sectors. He specifically acknowledged Argentina’s unwavering support for Serbia’s territorial integrity, a matter of vital importance. The Embassy of Serbia also played a significant role during a historic event. In November 2023, Patriarch Porfirije of the Serbian Orthodox Church made a landmark visit to Argentina. This was the first time a Serbian Orthodox Church Patriarch had visited not just Argentina, but Latin America. The Embassy organized a reception in his honor, bringing together clergy, government officials, and members of the Serbian diaspora. During this visit, the newly built Holy Trinity Church in Resistencia, Chaco, was consecrated. The Embassy of Serbia was recognized for its contribution to the construction of the church and received the Order of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul. This visit underscored the deep cultural and religious connections between Serbia and Argentina, further solidifying the bonds represented by the Embassy of Serbia in Buenos Aires.
