Awakening to faith in 2007, City Gate Church, originally known as The Generation for Christ, embarked on a journey of transformation. Under the leadership of Pastors Eric and Kim Petree, the church quickly established its mission to make a significant impact. Their illustrated sermons and debut worship album resonated with the growing community. City Gate Church continued to expand, renovating the Towne Street Campus between 2008 and 2009. From 2013 to 2015, the church adopted a mobile approach, spreading its message across the tristate area. This allowed them to reach a wider audience without losing the authentic spirit that defined City Gate Church. The dedicated crew played a vital role in facilitating the mobile setup and teardown during these years without a central location. In 2015, City Gate Church launched small groups, fostering a sense of community and fellowship among members. This initiative strengthened bonds and created opportunities for shared experiences. Pastors Eric and Kim celebrated a decade of faithful service in 2017. A pivotal moment arrived in 2018 with the opening of the official Lebanon campus. This symbolized God’s faithfulness and marked a new beginning. City Gate Church held its inaugural Rooftop Revival and launched the annual Wonder of Christmas production. Their reach extended further with the introduction of a television ministry. The expansion continued in 2021 with the opening of City Gate Forest Park, providing additional space and resources. City Gate Church continues its mission to inspire and encourage people on their spiritual journeys. Their future remains bright, inviting everyone to join their vibrant community. In 2004 City Gate Church began as a small group of young people devoted to Jesus. They were initially known as The Generation for Christ. In 2007, the ministry shifted its focus to serving the city, embracing the name Citygate Fellowship Church. The church found a permanent home in Mascot in 2015, leading to a period of growth and development. New ministries were established, leaders were nurtured, and the church expanded its reach. Throughout its evolution, City Gate Church remained committed to its core values: Loving God, loving people, and making disciples.
