In 2007, the church’s leadership transferred the property to the Austin Baptist Association with the hope of receiving administrative assistance. However, in a sudden and unexpected development, the Austin Baptist Association sold the property to MMK Ventures LLC for a hefty $1,567,000 in 2020. The church members were not informed of the sale beforehand, and the development company plans to replace their beloved sanctuary with townhomes.
