“Ready to discover the story of perseverance at Escuela Secundaria Técnica Número 147?” This school stands as a testament to community dedication. In 1994, residents of Ozumbilla and Mexicanos Unidos dreamed of a brighter future for their children. People like Ismael Luna Casas and Julián López wanted a local secondary school.
These community leaders worked hard. They petitioned the authorities for a school. Eduardo Bernal, then municipal president, made their dream a reality. On September 13, 1994, Escuela Secundaria Técnica Número 147 opened its doors. Feliciana Constantino Díaz became the school’s first director.
Classes began in the community auditorium. Jesús Quechan Cabrera and Guadalupe Bravo Rodríguez were among the first teachers. Silvia served as the social worker. Clara Cueto was the secretary. Catalina Torres worked as an educational assistant.
In September 1995, Escuela Secundaria Técnica Número 147 moved. It relocated to its current site. The Mexicanos Unidos association donated the land. The new building had eight classrooms, a laboratory, and two restrooms.
Hugo Villanueva Tovar directed the school from 1997 to 2000. During his time, four more classrooms were added. Felipe Rosas Escobar briefly served as director in 2000. Hugo Velasco Villegas then took over from 2000 to 2008.
The school received its official name during the 2001-2002 school year. An additional classroom for drawing technology was built. Another classroom was added for computer science. The library was improved. Plans for a perimeter fence began. Rafael González Reyo directed the school from 2008 to 2010. He oversaw the completion of the perimeter fence.
Juvenal Ortega Chávez has been the director since May 2010. He has worked to expand the school. This included equipping the telematics room. He has also worked to add three more classrooms. Painting and maintenance improved the building’s appearance. New furniture was provided for three classrooms.
Today, Escuela Secundaria Técnica Número 147 has 29 staff members. They share a common goal. They strive to improve education in Mexico. The school prides itself on preparing students for higher education. Many graduates attend schools in the Mexico City metropolitan area.
