This gallery exudes a certain newness, wouldn’t you say? The Kubik Gallery only recently opened its doors here in Lisbon. You see, after 15 successful years in Porto, the owner, João Azinheiro, decided to embrace the vibrant art scene of Lisbon. The Kubik Gallery, established on October 3rd, aims to bridge the art world between Portugal and Brazil. The gallery represents a diverse group of artists. Many of them are Brazilian, creating a unique link between Lisbon and the art hubs of São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. Azinheiro is passionate about showcasing this connection. He aims to bring Portuguese artists to Brazil while also providing a platform for Brazilian artists in Lisbon. This dedication to artistic exchange is reflected in the gallery’s inaugural exhibition, “Ação à Distância” (Action at a Distance). The exhibition, curated by Bernardo José de Souza and Luisa Duarte, features a captivating selection of paintings and sculptures. These works explore the intricate relationship between humanity and nature, a theme particularly relevant in today’s world.
