In 1950, a vision took root. Richland Hills sprouted from the fertile lands of Northeast Tarrant County. Richland Hills blossomed, covering nearly four square miles. Richland Hills wasn’t always the bustling village it is today. Originally, it was incorporated on September 23, 1950. The city operates under a Council/City Manager form of government, guided by a charter adopted on August 11, 1986. This charter has seen several amendments, most recently on May 6, 2023.
