It wasn’t always on this corner, though. This building came later, a testament to the church’s growth and resilience. Greater New Bethel started as a humble gathering in a living room. The founders, driven by a desire to spread the gospel, quickly outgrew their space. They moved into a garage, then a hall, always seeking a bigger place to accommodate their expanding congregation. In 1973, they finally found their home, the very building you see today.
Today, Greater New Bethel continues to be a pillar of strength for the neighborhood. Pastor Rikki T. Ferrell, Jr., leads the church with a commitment to enlightening, empowering, educating, evangelizing, and enriching the community. He speaks often about the importance of the Gospel; the church’s mission is to share it in a new and imaginative way, one that resonates with people today. Pastor Ferrell emphasizes that “Greater New Bethel is not here based on what we’ve done, but because He has blessed us so that we can continue to keep building on the blessing.” The church’s devotion to its community is clear for all to see.
