In 2016, the artist Thomas Dambo created six giants from recycled wood. He hid them in the western municipalities of Copenhagen. These municipalities are Rødovre, Hvidovre, Vallensbæk, Ishøj, Albertslund and Høje Taastrup. The Forgotten Giants project aimed to bring art outside the museum walls. It also aimed to showcase the overlooked nature of Copenhagen Vestegn. The giants invite you to explore hidden gems in nature.
Hilltop Trine is special. You can climb into the palms of her hands. From there you can enjoy a beautiful viewpoint.
Hilltop Trine, like her siblings, is made from local scrap wood. She is also made from recycled materials. Branches and old pallets from Stark were used. Local volunteers helped build this wooden sculpture.
But do you know who she is named after? She is named after one of the volunteers. This volunteer helped build one of the other hidden giants.

To get to Hilltop Trine from Copenhagen Central Station, take the A S-train. Go to Avedøre Street. Then take bus 1A to Avedørelejren. From there it’s only an eight-minute walk.
