Findung Sculpture

Gazing upon the Findung Sculpture, one might sense a primal connection to the earth. Here in the Skulpturenpark Wettersbach in Grünwettersbach, the Findung Sculpture commands attention. Created in 2018 by Laura Danzi, this artwork speaks to the human relationship with nature. The Findung Sculpture isn’t just a statue. It’s an experience. It’s a large granite boulder resting on a plinth of colored concrete. From this rough stone, a human figure emerges. This male form, almost archaic in its simplicity, is carved in a classical style. He crouches upon a blue surface. This blue represents water, a symbol of life and origins. Laura Danzi, who studied under Professor Stephan Balkenhol at the Staatliche Akademie der Bildenden Künste Karlsruhe, imbues the Findung Sculpture with deep meaning. The sculpture explores our connection to our origins and our bond with the natural world. Danzi intended the sculpture to provoke reflection. She wanted visitors to contemplate their own relationship with nature. The Skulpturenpark Wettersbach provides the perfect setting for this contemplation.
