Slipping through time’s corridors, we find ourselves at CBC Montes de Oca. This isn’t just any building. It’s a gateway to knowledge, a stepping stone to dreams. CBC Montes de Oca, located on Avenida Manuel A. Montes de Oca in Barracas, is part of the larger University of Buenos Aires (UBA) network. It represents the crucial Ciclo Básico Común, the Common Basic Cycle. This program serves as a foundation for students before they dive into their chosen fields. It’s a melting pot of aspiring doctors, lawyers, architects, and everything in between. CBC Montes de Oca plays a vital role in the UBA system, welcoming thousands of students each year. They begin their academic journeys here, navigating the six mandatory courses that comprise the CBC. Two courses are universal, introducing societal knowledge and scientific thought. Two others depend on the student’s broad academic direction, be it social sciences, health sciences, or exact sciences. The final two are specific to their chosen major. Imagine the energy within these walls, the mix of anxieties and aspirations. This location, historically significant, will soon be replaced. A new building, aptly named “CBC Estación Buenos Aires,” will rise nearby. It will carry the torch of education forward. However, this current site holds memories, echoes of countless students who passed through its doors. While the new building will offer modern amenities and more space, CBC Montes de Oca’s legacy will not be forgotten. It represents a pivotal moment in the lives of so many, a bridge between aspirations and achievements.
