Since 2016 the CONIN Foundation has a branch in our Capilla. It provides services to families in the neighborhood. This is the Capilla Cristo Redentor y Virgen de Itatì. It’s more than just a place of worship. It’s a vital community hub.
The Capilla Cristo Redentor y Virgen de Itatì holds a special place in the hearts of the people here. It’s a place where faith and community intertwine. Sunday mass is celebrated here. So are baptisms first communions confirmations weddings and anointing of the sick. Catechism classes are offered. This is for children young people and adults.
The Capilla also provides school support for neighborhood children. They offer emotional support and help with schoolwork. Every month there’s a used goods fair for local families. This helps them economically. It also fosters a sense of community.
In 2017 new halls were inaugurated. In February 2018 Bishop Oscar Ojea consecrated the altar of the new Capilla. The Capilla Cristo Redentor y Virgen de Itatì was completely rebuilt. This was a major undertaking. It reflects the community’s commitment to faith and its future.
