The garden has been lovingly cared for since 1958, after Mrs Helen Brunton gifted it to the Trust. Before that, the garden had been neglected for a while, having been used to grow vegetables during World War II. But now, Inveresk Lodge Garden bursts with fragrant blooms, offering a year-round feast for the senses. The garden is split into two areas. At the top, sloping lines of colorful borders and lawns stretch up the hillside. Below, wander through a wilder woodland, enjoying the sights of the meadow pond. Among the verdant flora, the captivating scent of roses, honeysuckle and herbs wafts in the gentle breeze. The National Trust has carefully preserved these ancient grounds, ensuring a haven of peace and beauty for years to come. Inveresk Lodge Garden isn’t just a haven for horticultural delights. It also boasts a Victorian conservatory, greenhouse and aviary, remnants of a bygone era.
