Built between 1885 and 1887, the Glessner House Museum showcases the genius of architect Henry Hobson Richardson. Richardson, a champion of a distinctly American architectural style, tragically passed away just weeks after its completion. This Romanesque marvel was his final masterpiece. The Glessner House Museum’s design is a study in contrasts. While neighboring mansions boasted ornate facades and outward displays of wealth, Glessner opted for a fortress-like exterior.
