What if walls could talk? What stories would they whisper about Masjid Taman Rinting? Masjid Taman Rinting stands as a testament to community spirit and perseverance. In 1989, the developer of Taman Rinting donated land for a place of worship. The community rallied, raising funds and building a simple surau. It opened its doors in 1991, a beacon of faith in the growing Taman Rinting. Masjid Taman Rinting quickly became more than just a place for prayers. It hosted Friday prayers for those displaced by the Masjid Masai reconstruction. As the community expanded, so did the surau, piece by piece. By 1995, it had officially become Masjid Taman Rinting, recognized by the Johor Islamic Religious Department. Recognizing the need for a larger, more comfortable space, the mosque committee launched a fundraising drive in 1999. They sold lots and collected donations, inching closer to their RM2.5 million goal. By February 2008, they had raised over RM1 million. A significant boost came from Datuk Seri Najib bin Tun Abdul Razak, with a RM1.5 million contribution. Construction began in earnest in 2010, with the last Friday prayers held in the old building on May 21st. The new Masjid Taman Rinting was finally completed and the keys handed over in February 2012. The first Zohor prayer was held on February 15th, 2012, marking a new chapter. Today, Masjid Taman Rinting thrives, a testament to years of hard work and dedication. It’s a hub of activity, hosting Quran readings, Fardu Ain classes, and even Haj and Umrah courses. So, the next time you are at Masjid Taman Rinting, remember its journey. It’s a story of community, faith, and the power of collective dreams.
