The Rathaus Vaduz was ceremoniously opened on November 19, 1933. Besides the Mayor’s office it housed the Bank in Liechtenstein. It also housed the Liechtensteinische Landesbank and the Post Office. Several associations also used the space.

A thorough renovation took place in 1984. Since then, the Rathaus Vaduz has been used exclusively for municipal purposes. Ludwig Ospelt was the first mayor with an office here. He served from 1930 to 1933 and again from 1936 to 1942.
