The family found the location so “pleasant and convenient” that Jeremiah bought the house in 1764. Years later, it became Jeremy’s home for four decades. The Jeremy Bentham Plaque serves as a reminder of this intellectual giant’s long residency. It stands as a tribute to his influence on legal and social thought.
