Rānui Baptist Church

Seven families embarked on a faith-fueled journey. These families left Henderson Baptist Church to establish a new spiritual home. That home is here, at Rānui Baptist Church. Rānui Baptist Church’s story began in 1966. Their initial goal was simple yet profound: to share the message of Jesus with children. The church’s founders included families like the Balls, the Rokes, the Carters, and the Parkers. Their vision extended beyond Ranui. They dreamed of impacting lives across New Zealand and the world. Thousands have found faith because of this church. Their love for Jesus and commitment to serving others continue to ripple outwards. In the early days, a student-pastor named Ian S. Macdonald played a key role. Rānui Baptist Church quickly grew. In 1964, seventy children enrolled in Sunday school. Eleven dedicated teachers nurtured their young faith. The following year, sixty children attended, with twelve teachers guiding them. Dr. S.L. Edgar officially established Rānui Baptist Church. Thirty-four members formed the church’s foundation. Dr. Edgar, chairman of the church extension committee, welcomed them. Rānui Baptist Church still serves its community at 464 Swanson Road. It continues to be a place where lives are changed. The church’s weekly services, small groups, and various ministries offer opportunities for spiritual growth. Rānui Baptist Church’s history is a testament to the power of faith and community.
