In 1989 the Iglesia Universal Evangelista arrived in Argentina. The country faced social chaos and hyperinflation. Yet in Cordoba the message spread. By 1995 the first Buenos Aires location opened its doors on Avenida Rivadavia. Bishop Marcus Vinicius led the inaugural service.
A larger venue was needed. In July 1996 the Iglesia Universal Evangelista found a new home. It was a former cinema in the city center. Bishop Djalma Bezerra officiated the opening. Folha Universal reported a packed temple and many miracles. Bishop Djalma’s words resonated: “The eyes of the Lord scan the earth. He knows all hearts. This door is always open for the suffering those desperate for solutions. Jesus is the way the truth and the life.”
The Iglesia Universal Evangelista continued to expand. A cathedral in Mendoza followed a testament to its growing influence. Bishop Paulo Roberto Guimaraes presided over its opening. This grand cathedral held 3500 people. It was always full.
Then in 2004 another even larger cathedral opened in Almagro Buenos Aires. Founder Bishop Edir Macedo himself attended. Folha Universal described the event. Around 4000 people sought a new life a resurrection of faith.
The Iglesia Universal Evangelista’s impact went beyond its buildings. In 2010 a massive “Dia D” event drew over 130000 people to the Racing Club stadium. Bishop Romualdo Panceiro led the service. A “Dia M” event in 2014 celebrated women. It was held at Huracán stadium.
The Iglesia Universal Evangelista continues to thrive in Argentina. It has over 270 churches. Its outreach programs support youth the elderly and families. The Iglesia Universal Evangelista’s enduring presence in Buenos Aires is a powerful testament to its faith and its mission. It stands as a symbol of hope in the bustling city.
