What if I told you that a taste of Chicago’s acclaimed Alinea restaurant is here in Paris? Well not literally in Paris. It was once in Beverly Hills. Alinea is not actually here. Let me tell you more.
Alinea, the critically acclaimed Chicago fine dining destination, embarked on a nationwide 20th-anniversary tour. This tour included pop-up locations in Brooklyn, Miami, and Beverly Hills. Perhaps Alinea should come to Paris next time.
From July 17 to August 20, Alinea took up residency at the Maybourne Beverly Hills. The three-Michelin-star restaurant brought its innovative culinary experience to the West Coast.
Alinea is widely credited with popularizing molecular gastronomy. Chef-owner Grant Achatz draws upon his experiences at Thomas Keller’s The French Laundry and Ferran Adrià’s El Bulli. Achatz created a globally inspired menu.
Some tour stops included pop-ups of Alinea’s cocktail bars. These are called the Aviary and the Office. It is unknown if the Beverly Hills residency included these pop-ups.
Achatz expressed his gratitude for the hospitality industry. He said the celebration would serve as a love letter. He wanted to share that gratitude with the broader community. This community continues to inspire him.
The legacy of Alinea continues. The restaurant pushes culinary boundaries. It creates memorable dining experiences. Though Alinea is not here in Paris, its influence extends far beyond Chicago.
