Founded in 1901 West Wickham Football Club boasts a rich history. It’s a testament to community spirit and sporting excellence. Right here on Corkscrew Hill this club has seen generations of players don its colours.

West Wickham FC officially registered with the A.F.A in 1931/32. Early successes arrived in 1955/56. The third XI won their division scoring an impressive 105 goals in just 18 games. Their second XI also earned promotion based on goal average. The club continued to grow. A fourth team joined the league in 1956/57 followed by a fifth team in 1958/59. This expansion speaks volumes about the club’s popularity and the thriving local football scene.

A landmark moment arrived in 1963/64. The first XI achieved promotion to Division One a first for the club. They maintained that status until 1998/99 an impressive feat. Think of it only one other club worldwide boasts more currently active teams than West Wickham FC. That club is Real Madrid.

The 1970s brought further triumphs. Under Ross Allen’s guidance the 1977/78 first XI excelled. Ian Freeman meanwhile led the second XI to victory in the 1978/79 second XI championship. They remained unbeaten winning 16 drawing 6 and losing zero matches. Their seven-point lead solidified their dominance.

Success continued in 1979/80 with both the first and second XIs winning their respective championships. The third XI added to the celebrations by winning the second division. The 1980s brought more accolades including a first team league win in 1987/88 by an impressive 11 points. The following season saw them concede only nine goals in 22 games.

West Wickham FC then achieved a record-breaking five consecutive league championships surpassing the New Crusaders’ four-season streak. This impressive run truly cemented their place in local football history. This is a story of dedication hard work and unwavering community support.
