In 1939, Frith Manor Primary School opened its doors to 116 eager pupils. A mere five teachers and a caretaker comprised the entire staff. Imagine their surprise when, returning from summer holidays, they found their school commandeered by the military. The children were temporarily relocated to nearby Dollis Junior School. Upon their return to Frith Manor, the pupils discovered a transformed landscape. Trenches scarred the grounds, an air raid shelter offered a stark reminder of the times, and an anti-aircraft gun stood sentinel on the school grounds. Frith Manor Primary School persevered. By 1963, the school boasted 11 classes and over 300 pupils, more than double its initial enrolment. Three decades later, the school had doubled in size again, a testament to its enduring presence in the community. Tragedy struck in 2002 when a devastating fire ravaged much of Frith Manor Primary School. Yet, from the ashes, a renewed school emerged. Over four years, it was painstakingly rebuilt, complete with a new nursery, ready to nurture future generations. Today, Frith Manor Primary School thrives with 516 pupils, guided by Ms. Wendy Wayland. The school’s capacity is 522, a number that reflects its significant role in the local area. A community school in every sense of the word, Frith Manor embraces children aged 1 to 11.
