“It is not of importance that one be a believer or not: what is important is to be Tolerant” Dalai Lama. These words echo the sentiment behind the La Tolérance Sculpture. This powerful artwork, right before your eyes, stands as a testament to peace and understanding in a world often driven by division. The La Tolérance Sculpture is a series of nine bronze sculptures. Each sculpture represents a letter of the word “tolerance” and is stylized to subtly suggest a different world religion. While the artist, Guy Ferrer, leaves the interpretations open, he encourages viewers to reflect on the shared humanity that binds us despite our differing beliefs. This very sculpture you see is one of only six remaining in the initial edition. Three are permanently installed in public spaces around the world. You can find them in Paris, Montpellier, and Abu Dhabi, spreading their message of unity across continents. This sculpture, like its counterparts, serves as a beacon of hope. It’s a reminder that tolerance is not simply a passive acceptance but an active pursuit of understanding and respect for all.
