Established in 1998, the Universidad de la Empresa, or UDE as it’s often called, stands before us as a testament to modern Uruguayan ambition. It wasn’t always a university. The UDE began rather humbly in 1992. It started as a business school under the wing of the Uruguayan Marketing Directors Association (ADM). This entrepreneurial spirit is woven into the very fabric of the university. It’s reflected in its name, “University of the Company,” and in its focus on practical, business-oriented education. Today, the Universidad de la Empresa boasts a diverse range of faculties. These include Engineering, Agricultural Sciences, Business Sciences, Law, Design and Communication, and Education. Imagine walking these halls as a student, pursuing a degree in anything from Informatics Engineering to Fashion Design. The UDE also offers a robust postgraduate department. Here, students can delve deeper into their chosen fields. They can pursue master’s and doctoral degrees in areas like Education and Business Administration. With a student body reaching 5,000, the Universidad de la Empresa has become a vibrant hub of learning and innovation. It has seen consistent growth since its official recognition as a university. The UDE’s main office is located at Soriano 959 in Montevideo. However, its reach extends further. It operates across five campuses and even has strategic alliances with the Casa de Galicia Hospital and the Scuola Italiana. These partnerships provide practical training opportunities for students in Health Sciences and Physical Education. This modern university, born from a business school, pulsates with the energy of Uruguay’s future leaders and entrepreneurs. It’s a place where theory meets practice, where innovation is encouraged, and where the spirit of enterprise thrives.
