\u0130cadiye is a neighborhood within the \u00dcsk\u00fcdar district. \u00dcsk\u00fcdar is located in the Istanbul Province of Turkey. In 2022, \u0130cadiye had a population of 15962. \u0130cadiye sits on \u0130cadiye Hill.

The neighborhood of \u0130cadiye is bordered by other notable areas. To the north lies Kuzguncuk. Altunizade is to the east. Selami Ali is to the south and Sultantepe to the west. \u0130cadiye is mainly residential. However, you will discover some historic houses and buildings.

The name \u0130cadiye comes from the Turkish word “icat”. Icat means invention. Sarkis Kalfa from Kayseri invented new printing presses. These presses were manufactured in \u0130cadiye shops. This is how \u0130cadiye got its name.

During the Ottoman era, \u0130cadiye Hill had important water sources. These sources supplied water to \u00dcsk\u00fcdar’s center. The Mihrimah Sultan Water Line was built in 1547. It brought water to the Mihrimah Sultan Mosque. Later in 1646, the Arslan Agha Water Line was built. It supplied fountains in Sultantepe. It also provided water to the Abdi Efendi and Mihrimah Sultan Mosques.

\u0130cadiye also has a historic bathhouse. It is called the \u0130cadiye Da\u011f Hamam\u0131. Sheikh ul-Islam Arif Hikmet Beyefendi built it in 1854.

Because of its strategic location, \u0130cadiye once had two fire towers. They were called Arapzade Tower and Ayarc\u0131ba\u015f\u0131 Tower.

There are also mosques in \u0130cadiye. These include the Hac\u0131 Mehmet Ali \u00d6zt\u00fcrk Mosque which was built in 1990. You can also find the Hac\u0131 Osmano\u011flu Mosque.

\u0130cadiye is also home to several schools. These include the Fuat Baymur Elementary School and \u0130cadiye Elementary School. \u00dcsk\u00fcdar High School is also located here. Interestingly, the Nersesyan Yermonyan Armenian Private Kindergarten and Elementary School had no students as of the 2000-2001 school year.
