In 2001, Baseballstadion Rheinaue hosted the Baseball European Championship. The city invested 1.05 million DM to upgrade the stadium. Bonn proudly hosted the opening and final games. In 2009, the stadium hosted the Baseball Junior European Championship.

Baseballstadion Rheinaue co-hosted the 2019 Baseball European Championship. It served as the European qualification for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. A major renovation occurred in 2017 and 2018. The upgrades included a new floodlight system. The second field was improved to meet international standards. The backstop was enlarged.

Alternatively, take the U-Bahn line 66 to Rheinaue.
