Four human skeletons. That’s what builders unearthed while constructing Leith St Andrew’s. Victims of war or plague they say. A chilling start for a church built in 1881. It wasn’t always called Leith St Andrew’s though. Originally it was South Leith United Free Church. Then it became Claremont Kirk. Finally in 1973 it adopted its current name.
