“Escuela 211 a school for children with intellectual disabilities” That’s what the sign says. But is it truly what it is? Franco another student has ten siblings one is a teenage mother. He works shining shoes and still attends Escuela 211. He is intelligent and resourceful. He wouldn’t be in this school if he had different circumstances.
Many students at Escuela 211 are described as marginalized. They face numerous challenges. Their family lives are chaotic and often unstable. Many come from large families. Siblings might be involved in criminal activities. Yet these children demonstrate intelligence and capability. They are simply lacking the support and resources they need to thrive in the conventional school system.
