On a seemingly ordinary Tuesday, January 10th, 1972, Entrepot Secondary School first opened its doors as Entrepot Junior Secondary. It wasn’t just another school; it was a beacon of hope nestled in the heart of Entrepot, Castries, Saint Lucia. Initially serving the community as a junior secondary school, Entrepot expanded its reach in 1984, becoming the full-fledged secondary school we know today. Entrepot Secondary School stands proudly on Water Works Road, its two-story building a testament to its enduring presence. Currently, under the leadership of Principal Arthur Scott, who took the helm in 2003, the school nurtures the minds of approximately 635 students, guiding them from Form 1 through Form 5. The school’s motto, “Character is Power,” resonates in every aspect of their educational philosophy. Entrepot Secondary focuses on developing well-rounded individuals, equipped to face life’s challenges. They understand that academic excellence goes hand in hand with character building. Entrepot Secondary has also cultivated some remarkable talents within its walls. Olympic high jumpers Darvin Edwards and Levern Spencer once walked these halls, proving that Entrepot fosters not only academic but athletic prowess as well. In 2020, during the challenging times of the Covid-19 pandemic and blended learning, Entrepot Secondary students shone brightly. Their achievements in the CSEC examinations, especially in Theatre Arts and Food, Nutrition, and Health, earned them places on both the Territorial and Regional Merit Lists. Five Entrepot students secured positions in the top ten of the Territorial CSEC Merit List for Theatre Arts. Faith Shaniquia Regis even took first place. Samanta Tamaria Greenidge, a student excelling in Food, Nutrition, and Health, also achieved top honors. She secured first place in St. Lucia and seventh place on the Regional CSEC Merit List. Entrepot Secondary School is more than just bricks and mortar. It’s a place where character is forged, dreams are nurtured, and future leaders are shaped.
