A committee formed, with members like Víctor Rossi, W Vecchiet, Juan Di Pace, and Florbel Anguilla. Liceo 1 de La Paz Javier de Viana started as a popular high school on March 16th. Dedicated teachers and staff worked tirelessly, even offering their services for free. Some of these individuals were Professor Dino Bizzari, Mrs. Baratta de Sarralde, Roberto Capote, Lida Danesse, Ma. Castro de Llanes, Joaquín Arostegui, and Walter Vecchiet. Among the first students were notable figures. For instance, Ma. Julia Izaguirre later became the director of Liceo N°2 de La Paz. Edgar Bellomo became a national representative and writer. Luis Petronio became a trauma doctor. And Olga Bianchi, a math teacher at the Liceo for decades, recently passed away. Their success reflects the commitment of those who founded the school. Officially recognized on July 7, 1965, Liceo 1 de La Paz Javier de Viana has seen renovations and improvements. Recent updates include modernized facilities and spacious outdoor areas, offering plenty of shade from the surrounding trees. However, some students mention that the walls in the new building are quite thin. They also point out the sometimes unhelpful administrative staff and high canteen prices. Despite these minor issues, Liceo 1 de La Paz Javier de Viana remains a vital part of the community. Its name, adopted in the 1990s, honors the Uruguayan writer Javier de Viana.
