The Institute of Systems Science, often called NUS-ISS, hummed with a quiet energy. It was 1981, and the fledgling institution was poised to make its mark. The Institute of Systems Science began its journey with a single program: the Graduate Diploma in Systems Analysis. In those early years, the collaboration with IBM shaped the institute’s focus on practical, industry-relevant training. By 1984, the Institute of Systems Science had moved to Heng Mui Keng Terrace, a space of its own. This marked the beginning of its expansion into research and development. The Institute of Systems Science spearheaded initiatives like SingaLab, Imagine Lab, and Star+Globe Technologies. These projects demonstrated its commitment to pushing the boundaries of technology. Over the years, the Institute of Systems Science continued to evolve. It broadened its offerings, adding postgraduate programs in knowledge engineering, software engineering, and enterprise business analytics. The Institute of Systems Science also partnered with other prestigious institutions to establish the Singapore e-Government Leadership Centre.
