And then there are the silos. Eight of them stand tall. Each twenty-four meters high and five and a half meters in diameter. They once held ingredients for the old Songjiang Flour Factory. Now their exteriors are adorned with vibrant graffiti. Four astronauts walk through golden-yellow rice paddies. They gaze up at the stars. A scene inspired by Songjiang rice’s journey into space.
The Yunjian Granary isn’t just about the past. It’s a thriving hub today. Art galleries and opera stages buzz with activity. Bookstores and an open-air cinema offer moments of quiet contemplation. Bazaars and art studios invite exploration. Waterfront terraces offer stunning views.
During the renovation a stone inscription was unearthed. It documents the Puzhao Temple reconstruction in the Qing Dynasty. The stone tablet is now a district-level cultural heritage site.
