Gazing upon Fellowship Believers Church, one can almost hear echoes of sermons past. Fellowship Believers Church stands as a testament to the enduring power of faith. It has served the Dallas community for decades. Its story is deeply intertwined with the life and teachings of Dr. S. Lewis Johnson. In 1961, Dr. Johnson, a professor at Dallas Theological Seminary, along with three other men, began to envision a new church in Dallas. Their discussions centered on theological doctrine. They also carefully considered the practical aspects of church life. From these meetings, Fellowship Believers Church was born. The church’s foundation was built upon the principles of the Historical Evangelical Christian Faith, Sovereign Grace, and Premillennialism. The first services were held in 1962 in the auditorium of Betty Hoffman School. A small group of around 25 individuals formed the initial congregation. The church grew quickly. By 1969, a new home was needed. Fellowship Believers Church moved to its present location on Churchill Way. Dr. S. Lewis Johnson, a renowned Biblical scholar and theologian, led the Ministry of the Word for over 30 years. His teachings shaped the church’s identity and influenced generations of believers. In 1993, Dan Duncan, a former student of Dr. Johnson, took on the mantle of primary teaching elder, continuing the church’s mission. Fellowship Believers Church remains committed to preaching the Word and observing the Lord’s Supper. It emphasizes the importance of the Bible in personal and corporate life. This dedication to scriptural teaching has guided the church for over 50 years. It continues to be a source of spiritual growth and community for believers in Dallas and beyond.
