How did a small fellowship evolve into a significant church? Today we stand before Gereja Berkat Yesus. It is a testament to faith and community.

Gereja Berkat Yesus has roots in a humble beginning. In the early 1980s Sofjan Sutedja led a small fellowship. Later Samiton Pangellah and Eddy Leo joined. They named it Persekutuan Filadelfia.

From this small group, several ministries emerged. These included a library and vocal group. Mission work extended to various regions. Tangerang, Jawa Barat and Jawa Tengah all benefited. Lampung, Palembang and Medan were also reached.

Leadership formed through observation of other churches. In 1983 Jeff Hammond shared a vision. He spoke of the unity of Christ’s body. This included a city-wide church and multiple elders.

By 1986 Sofjan Sutedja, Samiton Pangellah and Eddy Leo became leaders. Over seven years the church experienced growth. This growth touched teaching and community values. It impacted leadership and infrastructure. Mission work also expanded.

In 1988 the church began using a building in Speed Plaza. This served as a worship and ministry center. It was then registered with the Department of Religion. The name became Gereja Yesus Kristus Tuhan.

Gereja Yesus Kristus Tuhan emphasizes key principles. These involve ongoing discipleship and community life. They focus on restoring the Father’s heart. They activate spiritual gifts. The church promotes the five-fold ministry. It values motivational gifts and spiritual warfare. Praise and worship are also central. General ministries include pastoral care and missions. They serve all age groups.

In 1990 Samiton Pangellah helped build a church in Yogyakarta. It was named Gereja Kristen Kemah Daud. Strong ties developed with other churches. These included GBI Ujung Pandang and GKKD Bogor. This led to the Integrated Global Mission Network.

In the mid-1990s Sofjan Sutedja built Gereja Bethel Indonesia in Toraja. In 1997 Jeff Hammond became an elder. The church developed five ministry departments. These included apostolic outreach and prophetic ministry. Evangelism and pastoral care were prioritized. Education in faith and theology also grew.

Several foundations accelerated the church’s mission. These encompassed publishing and arts. They include schools and community services.

As the millennium approached a new identity emerged. The church became Abbalove Ministries. A logo depicted Jesus’ hand touching a heart. This symbolized renewal and purity.

Abbalove Ministries focuses on three areas of service. These involve local church ministry. They emphasize a blessing movement. They also promote partnership ministry.

Local church ministry focuses on growth. It uses cell groups and discipleship programs. Worship services build a New Testament church model.

The blessing movement helps churches bless others. It encourages blessing families. It supports the body of Christ. It aims to improve communities.

Partnership ministry expands outreach. It connects with various fields. These include business, entertainment and media. Music and education are also included.

Gereja Berkat Yesus stands as a testament. It shows how faith can build community. It demonstrates dedication to service. This dedication enriches lives.
