A park honoring artists awaits. Cüneyt Arkın Sanatçılar Parkı is a special place in Istanbul. It celebrates Turkish artists. It offers green space and art.
Cüneyt Arkın Sanatçılar Parkı began as Sanatçılar Parkı. It opened in 2003. In July 2022, it was renamed. The new name honored Cüneyt Arkın. He was a famous Turkish actor who passed away.
This park covers about 480 decares. That is approximately 48 hectares. Or about 118 acres. It features busts of famous artists. Gürdal Duyar sculpted many of these. You will find Kemal Sunal’s bust here. Barış Manço and Sadri Alışık are also featured. Bedia Muvahhit’s bust stands here too.
The park aims to represent all seven art forms. It does this through sculptures. You can also see hand imprints of artists. There are over 250 artists represented.
For those who enjoy sports, there is a running track. It stretches 1500 meters. Other sports areas are available too. The park provides green space. It is free for everyone to enter.
The Beşiktaş Municipality runs Cüneyt Arkın Sanatçılar Parkı. They also operate a cafeteria. It is called Sanatçılar Kafe. The cafe is open from 8 AM to 11 PM.
Cüneyt Arkın Sanatçılar Parkı hosts events. EtilerFest has occurred here. The park also held the PSM Jazz Festival. Other events include Bir Sıcak Aralık. The Traditional Farmina Pati Festival took place here too.
The park has several sections. These include Sanat Meydanı. There is also Sanat Kafeterya. You can explore Yedi Sanat Meydanı. Don’t miss Hayal Bahçesi. Stroll along Sanat Bulvarı. Visit Yeşilçam Sokağı. Walk down Gülizar Sokak. Children can enjoy the Çocuk Bahçesi. You’ll even find a helikopter pisti.
The park also has an area for imza günleri. This is a space for book signings. There are tanıtım ve satış reyonları. These are promotion and sales stands. A müzik ritimli havuz adds to the ambiance. An amfi tiyatro and sanat duvarı provide more artistic spaces.
In 2004, sculptor Gürdal Duyar passed away. A ceremony honored Nâzım Hikmet in the park. This took place on the 59th anniversary of his death. Poems were read to commemorate him.
