It witnessed firsthand the challenges of decentralization. The promise of local autonomy was real. Yet the reality was different. Communities often remained excluded from decision-making. Public services were inaccessible especially for vulnerable groups.
PATTIRO stepped into this landscape. Its mission was clear: to promote good governance. This meant promoting transparency accountability and equity. PATTIRO strived to improve public services and public financial management. The organization sought to empower communities. It aimed to give a voice to those often unheard.
For over two decades PATTIRO has worked tirelessly across Indonesia. Its reach extends to more than seventeen provinces and seventy cities and regencies. The organization undertakes research. It provides technical assistance to governments. PATTIRO also actively advocates for policy reforms. It builds the capacity of both citizens and government officials.
