Since 2014, children and teens have transformed a leased field into this nature paradise. It’s designed for native animals and plants. They have achieved a lot. Fruit trees and a hedge were planted. A rainwater harvesting system was built.

You can discover beautiful wildflowers here. Various insect species also thrive. A brightly painted construction trailer serves as shelter. It is a lovely spot of nature in the city. It’s waiting for you to explore.

Laura, Lou, Emanuel, Nemanja, Johanna, and Katharina observed many insects. These included bumblebees, flies, bees, grasshoppers, and a hornet. They found the blooming meadow beautiful. However, the nettles were so high that walking through them was difficult.

Antonia, Matti, and Philomena learned about the local wildlife. Many different birds nest on the grounds. The starling boxes are noticeable. They are attached to a pole. There are also nesting opportunities for insects. Many plants provide good nutrition.

At Naturparadies Stäblistraße there is a hedgehog house with a feeding station. The small house and feeding station are popular. Especially in summer. Various bird species visit it. Song thrushes are among them.

During the day, many birds enjoy the organic buffet at the feeding house. Solitary robins and pairs of hawfinches visit. Flocks of chaffinches and siskins come too. Brown and black squirrels perform acrobatics. They try to steal sunflower seeds. They quickly learn to open hazelnut feeding boxes when hungry. Some neighborhood cats sniff around. They sometimes sample the hedgehog food in the late evening. Then they go home to their warm baskets.

The Naturparadies Stäblistraße also features a bird observation house. You can visit it with a trained guide. The birds nesting in the house must not be disturbed.
