Saint Stephen’s isn’t just a building. It’s a testament to faith. It’s a place where generations have found solace. Generations have celebrated life’s joys and mourned its losses within these walls.
Saint Stephen’s Lutheran Church opened its doors in 1955. From a small congregation it blossomed into a vibrant community. Five lead pastors guided its journey. Five building projects expanded its physical presence. Each addition reflects the church’s growth and its commitment to serving its members.
The heart of Saint Stephen’s beats to the rhythm of worship. A rich tapestry of musical talent graces its services. Senior choirs fill the air with traditional hymns. Contemporary music groups bring a modern energy. Even a brass ensemble and bell choir add their unique voices to the praise. Music truly is a cornerstone of the community at Saint Stephen’s.
But music is only part of the story. Faith formation is another integral part of this church’s identity. Sunday School and Bible studies cater to all ages. From preschoolers to seniors each member receives spiritual nourishment. It shows the church’s commitment to nurturing faith through education.
Saint Stephen’s reaches beyond its walls. Its mission embraces service. The church has a history of aiding those in need. They supported the resettlement of a Southeast Asian family. They run the Neighbors Helping Neighbors clothing store. They provide community meals. This compassion extends internationally. Saint Stephen’s maintains a partnership with a parish in Lukani Tanzania. They’ve made six mission trips there. They also support the Rancho San Juan Bosco Orphanage in Tecate Mexico. On a 2012 mission trip members taught music and crafts to the children.
