The Kingston Heath Soccer Complex, home to the Bentleigh Greens, officially opened in 1987. But its story began a year earlier. A small group, largely of Greek Cypriot heritage, dreamt of a strong community team. They pooled resources, rallied 150 founding members, and took over Greensborough SC, relocating it to Cheltenham and renaming it Bentleigh Greens. Kingston Heath has been their fortress ever since. The complex isn’t just a pitch. It’s a testament to the club’s remarkable journey. From the lower divisions, they climbed steadily, achieving five promotions in nine years. They reached the Victorian Premier League in 1995, a testament to their hard work and community spirit. The year 2014 etched Kingston Heath into Australian soccer history. The Bentleigh Greens, against all odds, reached the semi-final of the inaugural FFA Cup. They defeated established clubs, drawing crowds of nearly 3,300, almost reaching the stadium’s capacity. The atmosphere was electric, a mix of local pride and national attention. Though they fell to Perth Glory, the Kingston Heath Soccer Complex had become a stage for a fairytale run. The story continued with triumph in 2015. Bentleigh Greens claimed their first major title, the NPL Victoria title, cementing Kingston Heath’s place as a venue for champions. The complex received a much-needed upgrade in 2010. A $3 million investment transformed the facilities. New function rooms, club rooms, changing rooms, artificial pitches, and broadcast-quality lighting were added. This investment reflected the club’s growth and ambition. Kingston Heath continued to be a hub for memorable moments. In 2016, the Greens claimed the FFV Community Shield and the Dockerty Cup.
