Right here in Viby, this Liggende pige is a copy of the original, residing at the Statens Museum for Kunst in Copenhagen. It arrived here on March 14, 1966, initially gracing the area in front of the Aarhus Museum. The journey of the Liggende pige reflects Viby’s changing landscape. With the expansion of Kongevej/Skanderborgvej in the late 1960s, the statue was moved to its current location. Its relocation mirrors the town’s growth and adaptation.
