Waitawa Bach offers a tranquil escape. It is located 50km from central Auckland. The bach is nestled within a recreation park. This park is thoughtfully designed for outdoor activities. You can enjoy exercise and fishing off the wharf. It is great for kids.
Imagine waking up in one of the three generous bedrooms. The bach sleeps a maximum of six people. Two rooms feature queen beds. The third has two sets of single bunk beds. Please note the top bunk is not recommended for children under nine.
From the large deck or lounge, the views stretch across Waitawa Bay. You can even see the distant Coromandel Ranges. An accessible bathroom and a heat pump ensure comfort for everyone. A wheelchair ramp is conveniently located at the back.
Waitawa Bach provides all the essentials for a comfortable stay. The kitchen is equipped with a fridge/freezer and a stove. A dishwasher, toaster, and kettle are also provided. You’ll find pots, pans, cooking utensils, cutlery, and crockery. There is also an automatic washing machine. Remember to bring your own bed linen, blankets, towels, and personal items.
The surrounding Waitawa Regional Park beckons with many activities. Explore walking trails. Embark on a mountain biking adventure. Try your hand at disc golf or relax under the large pōhutukawa tree. Waitawa Regional Park is made up of three small peninsulas. It fronts onto four bays.
Please note a few important rules during your stay at Waitawa Bach. Animals and pets are prohibited at all times. There are no rubbish disposal facilities provided. So you must take all rubbish and recycling with you. Staying in tents or vehicles around the bach is not permitted. Fires are prohibited at all times.
The land has a rich history. Waitawa is located on a traditional boundary line. It lies between Te Urikaraka (Ngāti Paoa) and Ngāti Kohua (Ngai Tai / Te Waiohua). Numerous archaeological sites reflect a long history of human occupation.
Before you leave Waitawa Bach, ensure that the bach and surrounding area are clean and tidy. Clean all utensils and surfaces as a precaution against COVID-19. Check-in time is 2pm and check-out is 12pm.
