Apostolische Gemeinde Dresden

Nestled in the heart of Dresden-Niedersedlitz, the Apostolische Gemeinde Dresden has a rich history. Since 1996, this vibrant community has called Bismarckstraße 30 home. The Apostolische Gemeinde Dresden’s modern church building welcomes all who seek spiritual connection and community. Its bright and friendly architecture, featuring a striking stained-glass window, invites passersby to join in worship and fellowship. The congregation, typically numbering between twenty and thirty members, along with friends and guests, gathers every Sunday at 9:30 AM for worship. The services center on the adoration of God, congregational singing, prayer, and hearing the Word of God. Holy Communion is also celebrated every Sunday. After the service, there’s time for fellowship, pastoral care, and shared laughter over coffee and occasional brunches. The Apostolische Gemeinde Dresden’s over 100-year history in Dresden is a testament to its enduring presence. Originally formed in 1897, the congregation first met in a chapel on Böhmische Straße in the Äußere Neustadt. In 1921, a significant portion of the community established the “Reformiert-Apostolische Gemeinde.” Later, in 1926, they dedicated a new chapel on Freiberger Straße. Tragically, this building was destroyed during the bombing of Dresden in 1945. The resilient community found refuge in the Evangelisch-Lutherische Versöhnungskirche in Dresden-Striesen until their current building on Bismarckstraße was dedicated in 1996. Today, the Apostolische Gemeinde Dresden continues its legacy of faith and fellowship, embracing the values of loving encounters with others and with God.
