A futuristic marvel rises before you. This is Fusionopolis. It’s more than just buildings. It’s a vibrant hub of innovation. A testament to Singapore’s commitment to research and development.
Fusionopolis isn’t just one building. It’s a sprawling complex. It sits in the one-north business park. It’s home to research organizations. High-tech companies call it home too. Government agencies and even serviced apartments are here. All in one place.
Phase 1 opened in 2008. The late Dr Kisho Kurokawa designed it. Three towers Connexis South Connexis North and Symbiosis make up Phase 1. They boast a combined floor area of 120000 square meters. Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong himself officially opened it. The event was under tight security. Linden Lab’s Singapore office is a tenant. So are A*STAR and several of its research institutes.
But Fusionopolis didn’t stop there. Phase 2A followed. This massive test-bed for new technologies features dry and wet labs. There are clean rooms and vibration-sensitive facilities. This phase added another 103635 square meters of space. Dr Ken Yeang designed the sustainable Phase 2B called Solaris. This impressive complex added 50000 square meters.
Nexus@one-north completed Phase 3. Two six-storey towers linked by a plaza and skybridge make this up. The final phases Sandcrawler and Galaxis added even more space and impressive structures. Sandcrawler houses the regional headquarters of The Walt Disney Company. Galaxis a 17-story building with a separate five-story block combines business space with living and retail.
