On a quiet street corner in the Aldersbrook Estate of East London stands Aldersbrook Baptist Church. This unassuming yet charming building has been a cornerstone of the community for over a century. Aldersbrook Baptist Church first opened its doors in 1910. But its story begins even earlier, with a non-denominational mission in 1898 and a humble hall on Dover Road in 1902. The church, as we see it today, was built next to this hall in 1909.

During the 1930s, the Aldersbrook Baptist Church thrived, with a congregation of approximately 100 members. The church has witnessed significant historical events. It even underwent a complete reconstruction after the devastation of World War II. In recent times, the Aldersbrook Baptist Church faced a period of dormancy, standing derelict for three decades. However, a beacon of hope emerged through a multi-million-pound restoration project.

This ambitious undertaking breathed new life into the beloved church, preserving its heritage for future generations. In 2020, the Aldersbrook Baptist Church embarked on a new chapter, merging with the International Praise Centre to form the International Praise Centre Aldersbrook Baptist, also known as IPC London. This amalgamation led to the church’s remarkable restoration. Today, Aldersbrook Baptist Church stands as a testament to the enduring spirit of faith and community. Its journey through time reflects the resilience and dedication of its congregation.
