Beacon Light Baptist Church. A place of solace, a beacon of faith in the heart of Chicago’s Roseland community. Sadly, tragedy struck this house of worship in recent years. A devastating fire tore through the building, leaving a community in need. Beacon Light Baptist Church, established in 2004, had been a pillar of the community. Led by Bishop Jerome Powell Sr., the church dedicated itself to serving its people and sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ. They worked tirelessly to spread the Agape love of Jesus Christ to everyone they encountered. While insurance helped, it couldn’t fully cover the extensive costs of rebuilding. The destruction left a void in the community, but the spirit of Beacon Light Baptist Church remained strong. They held onto their faith, knowing that God would see them through. A fundraising effort was launched, a testament to their resilience and the unwavering support of the community. Beacon Light Baptist Church’s journey is a reminder that even in the face of adversity, faith and community can provide the strength to rebuild and emerge even stronger.
