Here at the Islamic Center of Brushy Creek (ICBC), those whispers become vibrant voices. The Islamic Center of Brushy Creek isn’t just a building. It’s a testament to the dedication of the Muslim community in Northwest Austin. Established in July 2007, the Islamic Center of Brushy Creek emerged from a need. A need for a spiritual haven, a place for social connection, and a beacon of understanding in a rapidly growing community. Around 400 Muslim families from diverse backgrounds found their home here at the Islamic Center of Brushy Creek. They envisioned a place where they could practice their faith, celebrate their culture, and foster understanding with their neighbors. The Islamic Center of Brushy Creek strives to be more than just a mosque. It aims to be a vibrant center for learning and spirituality, catering to all age groups. It seeks to break down stereotypes and misconceptions about Islam, promoting civil liberties and social harmony. The Islamic Center of Brushy Creek actively engages with other faith-based organizations, community groups, and educational institutions. Through dialogue and shared experiences, they hope to build bridges of understanding and create a more inclusive society.
