Frederiksberg Brandstation isn’t just a building. It’s a living testament to the bravery and innovation of those who protect us. Designed by renowned architects Hack Kampmann and A.S.K. Lauritzen, the station opened in 1932. The previous location at Howitzvej 6 couldn’t accommodate the larger vehicles and equipment of a modernizing fire service. This new station, strategically placed near the city hall, district court, and former police station, became a vital part of the community. It boasts a unique history. Two employees, SchrØder and van Deurs, developed a groundbreaking technique for producing mechanical fire-fighting foam right here at Frederiksberg Brandstation. This invention, later patented globally, revolutionized firefighting worldwide. Today, Frederiksberg Brandstation remains an active part of Hovedstadens Beredskab. It houses not only the fire department but also essential training facilities. It serves a population of 130,000, covering Frederiksberg, Valby, and Vanløse. The station stands as a symbol of continuous service and adaptation to the ever-changing needs of a growing city.
