Sixty years. That’s how long the All Nations Church of the Nazarene has stood on Dominion Road. A testament to faith and community. Right here in Auckland’s vibrant Mount Eden.

This isn’t just any church. It’s a place where nineteen different nations come together. Their diverse cultures blend seamlessly. Think of the Sunday services. Three distinct gatherings fill the building. Each one a tapestry of languages and traditions. It’s a beautiful reflection of the global church.

The All Nations Church of the Nazarene began life as the Dominion Road Church of the Nazarene. It was established in 1953. Rev Rolly Griffith an American church planter played a key role. He travelled the North Island establishing several churches. He laid the foundation for the Church of the Nazarene in New Zealand.

Pastor Vipul Kharat and his wife Suzanne have served the church for twenty years. Under their leadership the congregation thrived. They outgrew their building. Now six house churches operate throughout the week. Their mission extends beyond Sunday services. They actively engage the community.

Pastor Vipul once said “We need to see Jesus in them they are made in his image”. He emphasizes seeing the divine image in every person. This focus shapes the church’s outreach.

The church’s 60th anniversary in 2013 was a special occasion. Former pastors Rev John Bennett and Rev Hilary Hansen attended. John Moore the Field Strategy Coordinator for Australia and New Zealand was also present. He praised the church’s efforts to connect the message of Christ with contemporary culture. The WMs Director Rev Verne and Natalie Ward were featured guests. They spoke on the missional and engaged church. They commended Pastor Vipul for leading the way in engaging the nations. Food from around the world was shared. This truly highlighted the global nature of this church community.

The All Nations Church of the Nazarene stands as a symbol of unity. It’s a place where people from all walks of life come together. It’s a vibrant hub in the heart of Auckland. It’s a living testament to the power of faith and community.
